Great work Paul … I love the way this image runs away from the eye so quickly.
FireRabbit
Stunning, love the perspective.
kimshillington
Oh this is FAB paul, not only do I love the perspective but the dark tones really add to the piece. Railway tracks always make for such interesting shots, they give a nice line for your eye to travel with. I love the bound man, your eye leads right to him. Love this, thank you Paul for sharing:)
RonnySimulacrum
Nice one
Naomi Mawson
Yea – what Kim said. Great work Paul.

Emma King
Amazing composition. Very traumatic and provocative dude!
Lindsay Blamey
Great self portrait – it works really well… Has a real sense of (creative) freedom to it. Its a great idea and I think its a great portrayal of what looks like a liberated Paul Vanzella.
Karen Lewis
Awesome image ! Refreshingly different perspective with great impact. Top job! Karen :-)

Kenneth Pang
Just fantastic : )
kathleen
this plays with my eyes, the lines, he seems to be hanging on by a thread, almost floating, or sliding… not sure if that explains it but he dosn’t seem to be connected to the ground at all and yet he is lying upon it…. inspirational photograph
kookylane

Mel Brackstone
Its Monday morning, I’m meant to be doing the end of month figures for the ATO….what better place to be than perusing the Paul Vanzella portfolio! I don’t know if anyone had noticed, but is that a nail in your left palm????? The orientation of this is disconcerting to the extreme….fabulous work, Paul!
jonathancarvajal
Without words, congratulations Paul

for some reason this reminds me The Crucifixion… except it’s done on a railroad track and not a cross…. wonder what Jesus would’ve preferred..

Very nicely done, great job… Sorry you missed it but glad it missed you…lol ~A
Rhana Griffin
The perspective on this one messes with my head… but in a totally cool way! What strikes me here is that he lays there willingly, nothing binds him… Its a train wreck waiting to happen and yet he looks like he simply belongs there.
Marnie Kirkness
i wonder how many people turned their head upside down to view this too? Its striking, the colour an lighting are fab.
orourke
missed this, great composition, perspective. well done paul
Richard Shepherd
Stunning image, pin sharp and superb perspective!

I’m going through my favourites for this… thing, and I just had to pop in and have another look at this one. Yup! It still does my head in.

I fell about laughing when I saw this. The Dali painting “Christ on the Cross” I think is it’s real name, although in Glasgow we just call it ‘The Dali” so I could be wrong, is one of my favourites and this is a tremendous reworking of the idea. It’s making me a little dizzy, though…
Interpretations
Wow! Stunning!

Rhana Griffin
I’m rummaging through your drawers again (if you couldn’t tell ;) Why is it I can NEVER go past this image without opening it? I’m trying to put my finger on the elusive quality that draws me in time and again…
aglaia b
wow, what a magical viewpoint.
the vanishing point truly makes me believe that the railroad is really a high rise building that you are attached to.
it looks like you are just about to dive off this building.
love how you’re defiant pose really adds to the perspective and drama.
Paul Vanzella
replied
wow thanks Aglaia… love your interpretation here – many thanks! It was so freezing when I took that shot, but I don’t mind if you nail the shot! Thanks again!
aglaia b
oh yes your nipples do look a little…

Lina
this is really neat!
Clare McClelland
Reminds me of the centrifuge ride at Luna Park, where you spin so fast you stick to the sides and everything loose gets pulled into the middle – can’t remember the name of it right now!
Paul Vanzella
replied
sounds like a great feeling… thanks for stopping by Clare!
Tania Rose
mmm…railway tracks. Don’t you just love the railway. so much to shoot, so much to see, so many places to go…this image is so simple, yet is has the complexity of a theatrical shot. great work, Paul
Paul Vanzella
replied
thanks so much Tania, spyed this remote track when travelling through northern Italy and it so commanded me to assume the postion! Glad you like!
JonnyMarvel

hmmm i see a martyr… symbolism here is strong… the cross shape your body forms and the vanishing point really work well!
Paul Vanzella
replied

simonesphotos

I dont think I’ve commented earlier….(would take too long to find me in the list above lol!) but this is an amazing shot…..and delivered with such a Bang…..LOVE that you have rolled the frame….which impacts a whole lot harder than if you had left it…..the perspective is a total Mind Blower…..I love the whole thing…including your title….Sensational work!!
