I love the way the litle girl is standing with one foot turned in as she concentrates on the game.
The setting is special Paul with the light in the window and around her,.
The darkness of the drapes sets it off beautifuly.
Well done, Ronald

Would love to see the rest of this Movie… It has such a story behind it and the art direction is magical. A great style.

I feel like we’re following you around the world, Paul. It’s great to see things through your lens as you travel. All your Venice shots are amazing, but this is the clincher for me.

I really love the mood you have created with this, usinmg modern elements with the game but also projecting a lovely vintage feel. I like the light which falls on the young girl and the composition of the piece. This is quite dreamlike and really something special. The tones also add some mystery, well done Paul, this is really a beautiful piece:)

Stunning work-looked like a painting at first! The lighting is wonderful!!

I love this shot – the lighting and subtle colours, the building out the window intrigues me and her little foot turned in while she’s concentrating on what she’s doing. Nice one Paul!

Love it! Really beautiful lighting!

The lighting gives her skin a kind of porcelain “hue-essence”( <—-Just made that word up.) She looks like the most exquisite porcelain doll. Splendid photo Paul.

A wonderful shot showing how untouched she is by her beautiful surroundings. In 30 years time she might look at this and complain that she didn’t realise what she was missing by being so taken with the action and movement on her little screen. A wonderful story!

WOW really this is ART.
Elaine van Dyk, about 1 year ago
Absolutely wonderful story of innocence. That huge, tall window, the high blank wall, and long curtains, makes the little girl look so small and delicate. It’s like I can feel how the world must look from her perspective.

THis is fabulous. Wonderful mood and gorgeous colour. The addition of the video game is quite contrary and unexpected. Love it!

Like the contrast too. The heavy v. the light. (Thanks for liking my picture: Building buildings, etc..) I hope it has a bit of the same contrast, as here.)

Must have nissed this one Paul. Amazing shot. Perfect composition coupled with excellent lighting – and posture. (Okay, ‘trippled with’).

Paul, I was immediately attracted to this but couldn’t really figure out why, so I startred reading through the comments… it’s the fact that she’s playing with that plastic toy which is so discretely but blatantly in contrast with the classic, timeless scene. Says to me something about how the young are oblivious to the history that surrounds them, so distracted by what modern life throws at them. Maybe I’m taking this too seriously, but I love your imagery and the subtleness of this masterpiece.

Another great shot Paul – sorry if my comments are are all coming at once…have been looking at your art collection for first time properly…just love the subject, comp, lighting, could go on….I also love the idea of telling a story with a picture and trying to hold the viewer longer than the average split second! and you have definitely achieved that.

This image engages the viewer from corner to corner with so many opposing elements. The rich oppulent, bygone era surroundings are directly opposed to the stark clean light this thoroughly modern little girl stands in. And then there is the almost derelict wall the window opens onto – old brick, faded and peeling paintwork…
The mental juxtaposition of the video game is absolutely brilliant.
All of this thrills me, but what really does it for me is the way the girls foot is curled in and up. Sometimes its the little things that make something magical.

aha! finished exams and can indulge!! Upon initial viewing, I thought this was a photo of a doll! great shot, BECAUSE she looks so little, but that world she is holding in her hand is SO BIG. And all the big things around her don’t matter, because THAT WORLD in her hands is the focus. WOW. Is it really a video game? I use to have lots of little toys like this that were my world.
