glorious Paul. a symphony for my eyes.
Lisa Jewell
Wonderful light on the hedges, it gives the entire image a feel of this is over the horizon into a different world.
The cable adds curiosity…

Oh that is so beautiful! Love the light on the hills in the background, and the light on the gorgeous cypress in the foreground….I feel like I’m there….wanting to spread the branches and see what’s behind!
Carmelh
Love the lighting and the striking contrast between the hedge and the mountains….
John Conway
it really is all about the lighting Paul, your style still shines through, but its the way you capture light that captivates the viewer, top drawer work.
JimFilmer
the reduction in the colour palette has worked very well (again) – you are the master at taking what could have been a hum-drum scene and making it into something to view, to be intrigued by… excellent Paul.
Kathryn Potempski
wonderful capture the lighting is so cool something you are a master with congrats
ian taylor
i have to say it i totaly agree with jim and jhon ,first class picture

Karin Taylor
yes, wonderful, really does have many attributes of a beautiful painting…i love those soft grey hills the depth of cloud and sky and the amazing and somewhat unusual light play on the foreground ‘hedge’ – K

Great shot Paul and lovely treatment, I really like the square crop too, but I think mostly its the wavey patterns of light, first with the edges of the bushes, then the mountains and then the clouds, it all balances beautifully!
Spidermike
cool
Pip Gerard
I’m intrigued as to what that is dangling over the hedge… care to share?
Love the cloud shadows & the grey tones on the mountains.
And I can see cool dark kinda scary faces in the hedges – could just be my warped mind though ; )
aglaia b

Well done Paul. A typical Vanzella. Stylish and simple. Love it
Zaldy Infante
the string in the middle of this image is an inspiring reminder of the great “I AM” that holds it all together.

Sorina Williams
I love the textures of the three layers!
RebeccaT
Such beautiful work – the light creating all these wonderful textures…it’s just fantastic.
Darren Burdell
Super stylish piece, love your framing and the tonal ‘flatness’.
Mark Ross
Love the delicacy here. The soft, rather pale tones you get while still maintaining that brightness and contrast that’s needed. This image, like all of your work Paul, makes one stop and ponder… what’s going on here? Like a short story with an enigmatic story line. This is your special way of seeing the world and it’s just that, special!
Angel Warda
gorgeous!!!
laurenrabbit
The light is the key. Captivating.

Love the contrasts in textures and colours. You lightig is brilliant . But what I like most is the sense of adventure here….. and the hope that maybe outside of our cloistered hedged in worlds there is something more just waiting for us to discover.
Heather Rivet...

interesting and puzzling picture…whatever happens, Paul, you make people think…I’ll be honest
it’s not my favourite Vanzella image…but your standard is so high I can find lots to admire.
Mel Brackstone
Beautiful bright light :)
Larry Stewart
I simply don’t know how you do it – how you make the ordinary seem so amazing. Great capture Paul. Instant fave.
billyboy
Paul, leave it to you to do a picture featuring a power line with aviation markers!
But OK, it’s what most of us see over our hedges… more and more these days. Seems advancement of technology and feeding of our creature comforts is creeping up and taking us from behind… sort of like in Man and Machine, but in a slightly more subtle way.
Hope I’m getting your drift here… or maybe power lines will become artistic embellishments… like graffiti on NYC subway cars.
I like that your slightly dull processing makes the intrusion seem to blend in… like we hardly even notice anymore. Paul, stop. You’re making me think again…
Danielle Prowse
LOVE the lighting!!! And the powelines just finishes it off…great to see how something that is usually a pain the the bum while shoot pics can actually be turned around into a feature!!
Shanina Conway
So beautiful Paul, it looks like a fine painting;)
chelsgus

This looks amazing Paul. It looks a bit like the view from the view from my new yet to be lived in lounge room in the Adelaide Hills. Will put it up tomorrow.
LauraHartley
Shadows, light, grass, mountain, power lines – signs that God himself touched your shoulder and said, “Now, Paul. NOW. Take the shot. And wow, ya did. Damn.

Lovely work as always Paul :)
Makes me think of all those old 70s photographs of Finland and how people used to plaster their walls with forest scenes and mountain ranges. I LOVED that sort of thing! Great kitsch feel you have going on here :D

How do you do it! Your landscapes always have me in awe! you make a character out of them. A character that could tell you something you didn’t know about yourself.
Paul Vanzella

wow Leila – what a beautiful comment.. very high praise.. thank you so much… This was taken in Bright a couple of months ago as we were staying at the meek caravan park whilst attending the Bright Hot Rod run… the shadows on the hills just spoke to me instantly as we first drove up.. love it when things like that happen… thnak you!

You may not know what is in store for you,
Over the hedge,
Shadows on the mountain tops of your mind
ease and oldness
blurring into a lush landscape of life,
Here we are in this moment,
planes and cars and burgers to go…
Stop now..
I don’t care,
I have captured this believing,
between us.
Linaji 2009…
Paul.. Your work overwhelms my senses .. I feel so humbled by your work. It is the fact that you have found such a definite style that is yours alone yet so much room to move about. I have seen your work everywhere and wanted to stop in and see what I could feel here.. this is my first stop.. so many delicious miles to go.
