Hong Kong Skyscrapers
I adore the Hong Kong cityscape – there are these awesome buildings that are literally stacked against eachother, each building with its own intricate building block formation, stacked upon itself, interconnecting and forming the huge picture that is the Hong Kong cityscape. The use of repetition is expansive and seems to go on forever – gotta love that! There is also this futuristic component that exists in the architecture as well as industry poking through. Mmmmm industry….

wow this looks like not real…... sooo good!
Devan Foster
not only does it look like a render… it looks like each building will suddenly sprout arms and legs! Great
Melody
Im thinking this is actually somewhere “off planet”....and that’s where you’ve really been!
Its tremendously beautiful, futuristic and of another place and time….Lovely colours and lighting as always:)
Cliff Vestergaard
there is no way I could live in one of those. I like how the car give the image scale and depth great treatment.
Pilgrim
It is like a scene from a star wars movie – as if they were on the march
Belinda Strodder
Who says we’re not living in a Si-Fi!!!!
theurbannexus
Nice colours in the sky and on the buildings. Nice processing on the clouds.
Graeme Hindmarsh
For me, this really has a dystopian feel to it – it’s unsettling and a little disturbing. The amber haze adds to the feeling of menace.
Once again Paul, wonderful painterly qualities and superb composition.
Lindsay Blamey
WOW – This is an incredible image… really blew me away!.. Love the scale emphasized by the car and the detail in the distance to the left. Can’t stop looking at it! (I have been hitting refresh on ‘Paul Vanzella’ all week… Either having too much fun or no internet access in little Italy – keep em’ coming)
Thad100
well captured, did you manage to get to mainland China as well, these high rises are iconic, they represent the overwhelming critical mass that is China, very cool, cheers.
David Haviland
WOW, love it.
kseriphyn
Excellent image Paul. I keep thinking of dimm slots when I see these for some reason.
andrew cowell
Beautiful presentation of a great capture!
Sacha Fernandez
wow super composition! surreal! Love the car that gives the image scale
Michael Douglass
HI Paul, another amazing photo from you. Do you manipulate these in any way to get such a surreal effect?
Elaine van Dyk
What a magnificent image Paul! I almost expect another identical building to sprout up next to this line of buildings. But I’m with Graeme Hindmarsh here – those building, with the addition of the futuristic metallic one in the background, and the overall colour gives this image an ominious and unsettling mood. Wonderful effect!

Can barely believe it isn’t a cgi film set. Incredible work, the car is the winning piece.

a colourfull gotham city: vanzella returns….awesome
Christiaan
Ah yes, Hong Kong as some really cool cityscapes, which I love… I also love the building in the background, looks amazing. Have you heard of the nickname “penciltown”? Basically there are so many tall buildings, maybe only 10 stories high, not yet skyscrapers, but all standing right next to eachother, that seen from above it looks like a pot of pencils all standing up straight!

I had to search emporis.com for a while, but this is what I mean:

Mel Brackstone
What an amazing cityscape, and yet still with the industry stacks visible too….beautifully framed, Paul, so very much the Honkers feel here! Magnificent shot!
Keegan Wong

your images all seem plastic or fake. Not in a bad way. But at times it’s hard to tell if the landscape is real or a model. It’s fascinating,
Paul Vanzella

A fascinating image. There is certainly something very futuristic about this cityscape (perhaps it is the grouping together of identical buildings?). Captivating image Paul.
