I particularly like spotlight affect upon the unearthed woman, its religious connotations has my mind working…the juxtaposition of industrial (man mad) versus primal man made… I’d like to see the model naked (no not just for a perve hehe)….it would add an extra element….
wow! your talent is amazing!!! i like how the viewer is compelled to look at the girls face – I find it hard to look at anything else… really great image!
for some reason….. i can picture this being a really cool ad. like pretend there was a bottle of vodka on the ground, and its brand was Ginsan! (??) they’re my words of wisdom this morning ;)
Love the kick of the boa behind her, the extraordinary light falling across her body, as well as the shaft of light appearing from the sky. THe glorious abandon of her pose adds a special touch. The mask makes me want to look closer….to see what her face is really saying….and I’m also needing to know that no stockings were injured in the making of this wonderful image :)
great rendering and textures of the background—- love the industrial “grunge” of the old container, the pipes and the dirt – and I never seem to find the same sort of models hanging about the containers I work with…hmmm… must be a Melbourne thing
I’ve noticed in the past few months after really getting to know people and their work that I can immediately tell who did what and this is definately a signature Paul Vanzella work. Excellent work Paul,
In basic math there’s something called a discontinuous function. Say you you’re on a path walking along… Tra-la-la when… FUH-WUMP! Abruptly it’s way up there over your head. Then – BWAM! It’s way down there. Something happens to kick the equation all the hell over the place. And well, that’s what surrealism is right? Discontinuous content in the image frame.
Now you know that surreal is supposed to be done only in black and white… Misty… but high contrast… yet low key and.. and… So wuddahell you doing here Dude with a full color, discontinuous image? What we gonna do with this? My mind’s hard wired to find patterns… ride on continuous equations… And you go all surreal? MY HEAD HURTS!
This image is sooooo freaky….......it draws you in closer to look at her weird face. Then you just sit back and stare a bit…........... Your mission – accomplished!
Nicole’s right its very hard to look anywhere else but the the girls face. I love the 2D backgrounds and the spots of light on the body. As always very original work
Love it Paul…amazing work and I wouldn’t expect anything less from you.

A strange ballet, positively superb. I notice two red marks on an object beside your model’s outside right knee .. what is that object? I am curious. Paul, your work is positively amazing. Cheers
This is marvellous – the yellow is marvellous, her geisah look, superb, and the bracketing of the words by the scarf, masterful. Very imnaginative and appealing. Sexy, mysterious, vivid, like a great song; one that will continue to play in my head for weeks. Damnit!
thanks for all your amazing comments mark – yes, here I am combining my love for industrial landscapes, the bizarre juxtaposition of elements and a beautiful woman!
Hey Paul! I’m glad to see this character back, I love your work with the female form, especially when you push our constraints of normality to limits. This mask, it’s strange and yet now familiar, the anonimity and yet the full frontal, it works. It says here I am, but not the I that needs identifying, the I that needs to be seen.
Contemporary beauty. This is a very interesting work. i am a pushover for a lovely female form but you have achieved something both unsettling and beautiful. Thanks
Fascinating and beutiful, you are a master of all facets – technical, comp, lighting, posing, plus your tones & textures give everything a timeless feel.
