“That’s it” announced Colin “25 years is enough! you’d get less time for murder.”
and with that marched Maude his long suffering ‘other half’ down to Sheila’s ‘R’ us.
“G’Day” he announced with a beaming smile “I’m looking for a trade in on this old banger I want a fast sporty one with curves in all the right places”
Maude kept her eyes down, she knew Sheila’s ‘R’ us was a discount shopping outlet and any minute now this information would register with Colin! and then well, she would make his life a living hell for the next 25 years…

SOOO CLEVER!! The concept is fantastic. The scene on the left has a movie-backdrop feel to it – the drama of life played out against it. I love the scale of the figures against a tiny door, and massive impersonal wall of corrugated iron. And the title – perfect! You win, again!!
aglaia b, 3 months ago
just beautiful and love the title and your mind set. your work is exceptional. Thank you :-)

Ya’ know, in the few billion years that a planet is habitable, the chances of single cell organisms evolving to multicellular are 10,000 – 1, if that happens the chances of them then evolving to technology producing life are another 10,000 – 1, it’s images like these that to me shows it in an eyeball.

Fantastic shot paul and love the concept!!!

The couple are joined together as “1”;the taps are joined together as “1” ...or am I reading too much into this? Clever work and once again a beautiful surreal feel.

Zaldy Infante, 3 months ago
white clothing: purity
entering in: covenant/agreement of one heart (internal)
the one sign: one and togetherness
the tree: new life
the colour of the building: fresh take on intimacy
the tall building: challenges of marriage
the opening of one side of the door: teamwork (“us”, not “you and me”)
the shadows: trials and tribulations
the mountains: more trials and tribulations
the dust: “until death do you part”
a masterpiece is an understatement.
Rivergirl, 3 months ago
What a beautiful sentiment and an amazing capture
Rhana Griffin, 3 months ago
The sheer scale of this image is mindblowing Paul. And Zaldy has hit it on the head with his very insightful comment, so not much more I can say except bravissimo.

Although his work varies – never really saw the point of his media recompositions – i’ve always been partial to Mr Loeb’s ability to make the extraordinary ordinary & the ordinary extraordinary. I see something similar in your work – & that is definately meant as a compliment

Marriage IS forever!!>>unless you get married for the wrong reasons, there should be no reason to leave the person you made that commitment with!>>I call divorce the 80/20 rule. People are usually only unhappy with about 20 percent of their relationship and focus so much on it that it seems detrimental to their relationship>>then they usually seek someone who fills that void!! Not realizing that they leave the 80 percent that they lost focus of!
Andromedae, 3 months ago
I really like to see how in your images space works for your goal, massive green steel wall, shadows, sky matching the ground – all together is simple, but holds viewer eye. Great work. And walls ina lot of your pictures, very interesting how you make them part of the image and they speak words.

I have been away from the Bubble for a while but now back, your work and style is still magic. I wish i knew how you created it. This one is really quite sad – the way i read it anyway. Why do people give up so easily, are we after instant gratification in our society so much we just chase the greener grass or what? Thanks for provocing so much thought with such a good image.

A powerful image with an intense message. I love it !!
Harmony Nicholas, 22 days ago
My dear Mr Vanzella, you really are messing with my head.
I know, I definately know that this is a photo – and yet, my painting background keeps telling me NO, you are wrong, this has to be a painting! And having just gone through your entire gallery, I’m blown away but your ability to combine the two mediums, either intentionally or not, because now my head hurts and you have me questioning everything I know about light and shadow and I LOVE it :D
Fabulous work xx
