Fantastic work! Oh yeah i am loving this!!!!
kathleen
This is like looking at a Tim Burton film… very cinematic… also like the tinging towards the citrus side of the colour wheel, it’s calming but alarming at the same time…
robotsdream
wow! stunning tones and colours! I love the other worldly feel of your work!
bodymechanic
wow great treatment! is that sum sort of amusement park?? “jolly trolley” is made so much more powerful with the amount of prams in the composition, tremendous paul!!
Paul Louis Vil...
Kathleen took the words right out of my mouth!
Tim Burton! LOL!
Love that plastic fantastic feel about this piece Paul!
Makes the viewer feel almost seperate from the other humans in this capture, yet part of us knows we are only too much like them.
Well done mate! :D
michael51
Is this a real scene or is it made up of different pictures anyway it is amazing mate
Mel Brackstone
Ahhh Disneyland…..land of tolerance, for sure. Love the way you’ve put this one together, Paul, there’s lots to see, plenty of repetition, and great tones…..Love the jolly trolley!
ferndesign

jlynn
Very interesting work,, really like the green tones, and composition! Fabulous:)
minka
Fantastic Paul – heightened realism tinged with the circus of the bored.Love the strange green and the Jolley Trolley sign where no one looks particularly happy!
Strange,intrigiuing and wonderful :)
Lior Goldenberg
Interesting scene and tones!
Robyn Lakeman
This processing and the strange building in Disneyland make it seem like it’s from another world. Never quite seen a photo taken like that there before :)
Hans Kawitzki
very interesting, like the toning and softness
~ Ademac
Wonderful capture…............the people look like aliens in a foreign land.
Superb treatment.
Danielle Prowse
LOVE the green tones and hues… green is my favourite colour and this particular shade is spot on, works so well with the real and the surreal!!!
Carlos Solorza
wow…exceptional. i have too many words (verbs, nouns, adjectives) that are popping into my head while looking at this most stunning work you have created. truly captivating. and your statement…how true
Birgitta
Super cool tones and hues here. Gives it an otherworldly vibe.
I like it a lot. :)

I must recommend a South Park episode to you:
The Death Camp of Tolerance.

we live in a world of intolerance. this image speaks life.. imagine an intolerant person being placed in the centre of the crowd.. a true test.. the impatience of others, the kids running, the babies screaming. we often wonder if ‘other people’ are from the same planet. the kid slugged on the back of his/her parent, covering their vision makes the test even more difficult.
a piece strong enough to inspire a novel. sheer brilliance.
Gerijuliaj
Intriguing photo Paul – As the saying goes “The World is a stage and all the people in it the players” – I love the way you take an ordinary scene and turn it into something magical. The colours are superb. Tolerance is what keeps us going forward -
ltruskett
Brilliant, P. LOVE the lime green tones, so suits this image. Also the way you have the humans at the bottom of the frame ( a slight whiff of indifference, to the fact that we all think we are ‘singularly’ so dam important.)............very cool. Great use of space and colour and good moral to the story. :))
Peace Mitchell
Have you read ‘A place called here’ by Cecelia Ahern? This work reminds me of that. Nicely done.
CherryDarling
so many babies!
KellyThomas
i have an unusually high tolerance for fat bums, in which there is an abundance in this photo ;-)
(love it paul)
orourke
love it as always, your photo’s are so unique, they are so thought provoking, cant spell sorry, visual person.
Aaron .
This is so surreal Paul. Everyday life on the grounds morphs evenly into fairytale green-ness as your eye rises above it. So Vanzella, perfect.
Andy Harris
Love the qaulity, lighting and clarity of your shots… the colour is fantastic here as is the use of the space at the top – excellent Paul!
paulevelin
love it…so very strong and original
Elaine van Dyk
A great statement, both visually and in the description. I like the way we’re almost taken into the fairytale world or dreamworld of the background, only to be brought back to reality with the foreground. I guess sometimes our destination starts off as a mere dream, which then prompts us to find a way to get there, or to help others get there.
annacuypers
Love the fairy tale image mixed with the view of the real world. The colors of candy are going so well with the message ! Yes, a Tim Burton atmosphere. You’re so great in what different things you make Paul. It’s got always your stamp with it. Lovely compositions, colors and especially the use of light.
meanderthal
this is simply perfect paul…... strangely surreal and yet so scarily real…. love the plastic look you’ve achieved with the people…. really suits the toony facades behind them
Sarah Moore
Paul you have such an amazing way with colour!
chelsgus
That’s just crazy!!
Brilliant composition. Love all that weight at the bottom of the frame even though it has such a light atmosphere to it. Great balance ;)
victor
Hmmmn… life really is an unfathomable mystery, wonderful image.
Rosina Lamberti

conilouz
Wonderful……......great capture.

Fantastic capture Paul and love the concept!

i was going to metion the model village in beetlejuice…but loads of other eagle-eyed folk have spotted the Tim Burton feel to this….tremendous
greenbeards
disturbingly intriguing.
billyboy
Yeah, Karen’s also hit on the plastic Beetlejuice town… amazing. And even more amazing is that all these people look the same and all the subdued colors seem to blend into one. Looks like through our tolerance we have maybe lost our individuality and character. I might have got this wrong Paul (wouldn’t be the first time!), but that’s just the vibe I get from this. It’s plastic and all the people are made by mattel. And the emptiness above makes it appear that only part of the potential full pie is on offer. Deep and disturbing, though outwardly bright and cheerful. A filtered view of life. Nice work.
berndt2
That’s a really really cool shot. The detail and colouring are beautiful – breathtaking. Wonderful work!
Adrian Donoghue
I love the contrast between the surreal empty sky and the chaos below, very nicely done.
Bill Proctor
Yeah, a little disturbing this one…. a plastic world we live in. Not many jolly people I can see here…. very strong image Paul.
Cathleen Taraw...
Breathtaking! I know, not very imaginative but this was my instant reaction in seeing this.

Looks so real and surreal at the same time… I had to come back to see it again ;)

I’ll just scroll all the way down the bottom here lol
i love your work .. this pastel soft focus thingie you do to it .. the way it appears delicious and yet sets the mind wandering/wondering at the same time ..
tolerance: interesting … i’ve often thought about it .. how thousands of people can move in the same space sometimes .. we’re amazing creatures :D
Paul Vanzella
replied
wow – so appreciate and love your insight Ari Way… nice words indeed.. thank you again!
Mark Ross
This is such an interesting image Paul. It almost looks, at first glance, like a scene from Star Trek or Star Wars what with all the varied human shapes and the very funky backdrop! The inclusion of all the sky area makes it all so “spacey” too. I think that’s an incredibly important addition here. Love it! Great one.

antony hamilton
what the hell is going on here? so surreal and fantastic!!
Clare McClelland
Wonderful use of space and tone – all that busy-ness going on in a world of gimmicky superficiality, with the infinite grey of relative emptiness above! Brilliant vision again, Paul.
Paul Vanzella

oh, thanks clare, this is one of my true favourites, shot about 300 photos at Disneyland that day, just to get the right people interaction…!
