Nicely done – I think the expression on the gunman’s face sells the point nicely. Makes me want to revisit the book.

Reading the passage made me want to read the whole book again. In fact, I kept reading further and further, trying to find a description of the Arab, and a description of the protagonist (which was harder) and ended up reading several chapters.

I’m reading The Plague right now, am I right in thinking that this is referenced in it at one point?
About an arab being shot on a beach if I recall.
