The Brinegar Cabin at Milepost 258 on the Blue Ridge Parkway in West Virginia. The Brinegar Cabin is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

This cabin was originally settled by Martin Brinegar in 1885. His wife, Caroline, brought along her mother’s four-poster weaving loom, which is still located on the site. The Brinegars occupied the cabin until 1935 when the land was purchased for construction of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The cabin was preserved, along with Mrs. Brinegar’s 100+ year old loom which is used for craft and weaving demonstrations during the summer months. Guided nature walks and discussions, led by park rangers, are also available.
