TUTORIAL: How to make a calendar
This tutorial is mainly for the bubblers that are new to navigating the RB site.
The calendars are quite easy to create. The most important thing to remember is that all images must meet the following requirements. Even one pixel below these numbers and it won’t work.
2182 by 1906 pixels for the main pages
3271 by 2874 pixels for the cover page
- Click on “my bubble”
- Click on “calendars” (in the 2nd row of menu items)
- Click on “Add a new calendar” (right-hand side of screen)
- Add a title and description (optional, but recommended)
- Add your cover image (When you click on the little down arrow, it will bring up a list of titles of all the images in your gallery, even the ones that may be “hidden” or “not for sale”.)
- Then just start adding images, one for each of the twelve months.
If you aren’t quite finished but want to save it, use the “Hide” feature at the bottom of the page. Then you can make changes without anyone seeing it.
When you are ready to publish, then change to “Allow Anyone to View This Work”.
I hope this is helpful. If you run into problems or still have questions, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
Have a blessed day!
Patricia

How can I change the size of my pics so I can use them for a calendar?
Patricia Montg... replied
Hi Felicity! You will need a photo editing program such as Photoshop or something similar. Most of these editing programs allow you to resize your image. However, I would go ahead and see if you images will work first. I did not resize all of my images, only the ones that did not show up in the list of images on the “make a calendar” page. If you still have questions, just send me a bubblemail.

Thanks that was easy with your instructions, I just created a Calendar

Thank you! I can see I’m going to need one more step at the beginning:
Write down the pixel dimensions of each of my images, because I’m never going to remember this when I start working!

I do mainly native birds of Australia and some seascapes, wild life etc. so if you can suggest one….I have just spent the last hour looking andreading comments and tutorials like yours. The time just flies by when you’re having fun!!

Hi Patricia,
I found your tutorial on adding cards, prints etc to one’s profile very helpful. Thank you.
I would love to try making a calendar at some stage, but have one major problem, that is the maximum size out of my camera is 3648 by 2736 pixels, which falls short of the required minimum of 2874 for the cover page. Is there any way around this problem?
I’m not the most computer savvy person and would appreciate any advice you could give me.

Hi Trish, I have not been on RB on a regular basis in months due to family health issues. Did I respond to your question via bubblemail? If I did not and you still need help, please let me know. (11-13-09)

Try to use Genuine Fractal Pro program to enlarge your images. You can read more about it at: http://www.ononesoftware.com/detail.php?prodLine_id=7
It works quite well.

Trish, you could make a triptych or diptych for the cover.

G’day Patricia
As per instruction I’ve made a beaut calendar and all is well, except for one small thing, for the love of me I can’t find a way to enter it into my bubblesite. I am evidently missing something, or are calendars a no-no in a bubblesite. Please can I once again ask for help.
Regards,
Brian

Hi Brian, Unfortunately, Redbubble has not yet given the option to add calendars or tee shirts to our bubble sites. However, you can make a link that will direct visitors to your calendars. I have not been on RB lately due to family health issues but try to check periodically. Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you need any further help. 11-13-09

Thanks Patricia, now I can stop pulling my hair out. By-the-way t-shirts can be entered into a bubblesite. Great system this, ask a question at night and the answer waiting for you in the morning. Thanks again Patricia and keep smiling
Brian.
