Spring Mimosa Blooms

Albizia julibrissin

The Silk Tree is also known as mimosa or silky acacia. It produces fragrant, silky, pompom blooms in a shade of delicate pink that attract bees and hummingbirds.

Oh, sweetie, how I LOVE the mimosa!!!! We had an awful blight here, 10 years or so ago … and they all died off. But recently, I’ve seen new trees … I guess the blight didn’t get the seed pods, yay!!!! We had one in the front yard of my parents’ house … right under my window … and the sweet fragrance always means spring and youth to me!!!! WOW!!! What a trip down memory lane!! thank you!!!!

On my daily walk I pass several Mimosa trees. You are right the aroma is as soft and gentle as the fan shaped blooms are soft to the touch. A terrific shot. Bill
