Wandering around in the undercroft of a Medieval castle ….in the air… but still a castle.
Sudden I discover a sort of loose stone in the wall behind a barred oak door. (seems possible in such an airy environment)
Curious. Pulled the stone further out, even in your (day)dreams stones are like real stones..heavy. Finally the job was done, the stone was pulled out completely.
Behind the stone there was a dark sort of hole in the wall now, a piece of ancient rotting leather was stashed in it.
It looks like a once costly wallet to me…and of course I try to open it carefully.
Inside the wallet there’s a bag made of oiled woollen cloth. A way to preserve, protect objects in the Middle Ages. The content of the woollen bag held a sheet of parchment rolled into a scroll, sealed with wax. The wax crumbled by touching. On the parchment roll there’s no text, not an official document, there is only a drawing.
Who was it that sketched a charging moment in a battle long time ago? For whom it was intended to send to? No text, no signature…..an incredible find…….
Sudden a darkish shape was approaching towards me slowly…..
I dream with my eyes open…
