Flat on my belly on a waste bin liner I was allowed to have a sneak peek into the laboratory of nature. Allowed to see the “casting” of water into ice (crystals).

The most important part of the cooling curve is the cooling rate which affects the microstructure and properties. Generally speaking, an area of the casting which is cooled quickly will have a fine grain structure and an area which cools slowly will have a coarse grain structure…

After the explanation I was frozen too…. don’t believe what you’ve just read..I’m telling you porky pies.

Only truths are:
the capture is real and straight from camera, Canon 30D
yes I lay flat on my belly to get that shot.

Whatever curve you were on Annet, I’m on the learning curve and its difficult enough.
Sounds very complicated to me but you got a super result in that photo.
I have now discovered it would be advisable to bring not only my camera withme …
    but a tripod,
    a ladder,
and now a cushion or big pillow to lie on
    Hmmm wonder what next?
Well done Annet – it’s another FAV for me.

  • Thank you Colleen no tripod no cushion just have the passion and fun shooting photographs and a waste bin liner is always in my bag or car boot…
