Medieval Knight with a sinister stare….Can’t see no eyes, can see the impressive armour, when the iron knight is slowly approaching towards me, I can feel something of the fear that must be there when you entering the battle field….and your opponent is staring at you like this.
Although I know who is wearing the harness still…I better get out of there before being crushed!
Sinister means the following:
In heraldry, the side of an escutcheon or coat of arms that is to the left of the bearer (opposed to dexter)
In the Middle Ages it was believed that when a person was writing with their left hand they were possessed by the Devil. (This was uncommon, particularly as there were fewer literate people). Left-handed people were therefore considered to be evil. Hence, the most common present-day meanings:
Threatening or portending evil, harm, or trouble; ominous: a sinister remark
Bad, evil, base, or wicked; fell: his sinister purposes
Unfortunate; disastrous; unfavorable: a sinister accident
Comes from the Latin Sinistra meaning lefthand
