Artist's Description

A knight returns alive from the battle field. The land is freed. Yet he discovers the bitterness of victory by loosing his beloved one.

Photo manipulation. Used parts of my own photographs. Total is processed in Microsoft Picture it, in Photoshop the final rendering is added.

The wonderful poem: The Warrior’s Lament is specially made to this art work by the gifted The Wandering Boo

The battle has been won
I fall in supplication before my God
For my life has been spared
From the enemy’s sword
This land has been liberated
It’s heart breathes sweet freedom
Yet my heart is broken
For the heart I could not free
From the unseen enemy
Where life breathes for the liberated
It breathes not from my lover’s lips
This blood soaked battlefield
Is now soaked with the tears of my anguish
For the loss that I now lament
In the solitude of my grieving heart.

With permission of Simon (The Wandering Boo) here is my first video a combination of the two art works.
