Kokoda

Forests of white,
Spread out of sight,
Upon the ground,
Which they now lie,

Those who remain,
Remember their mates,
The good the bad,
And all the greats,

The things they saw,
Cut through their soul,
Till nothing remains,
But a deep black hole,

But with support and hope,
They all fought on,
Till their battle was won,
With the barrel of a gun,

So remember the dead,
And revere the living,
They did their job, and well,

They sent the Japs running,
All the way back home,
By sending their souls to hell.

Pathos.

Artist's Description

Written 21:34pm while slightly drunk on the 29/04/2010 in 10 minutes. I just watched the documentary on the Kokoda track in WW2, and felt like writing something. Our boys sure did one hell of a job and I figured it was the least I could do for them.
