Artist's Description

Why does a cats tongue feel like sandpaper?
Answer: " A cats tongue seems scratchy because its surface is covered with tiny hooks called papillae. As your cats licks itself the backward- facing hooks act like flexible brushes, scraping away dirt ect. Cats also use them to lap up water." Taken from Kids National Geographic.
Trying to get a macro of one of my cats tongue I was finally rewarded with this shot from Shiver. Hope you enjoy the trivia and the shot :)
Taken in Wetaskiwin Alberta with a Sony Cyber Shot
