This is Xi-tang in Jiashan, not too far from Shanghai,China. It is more than a thousand years old with well preserved buildings of the Ming Dynasty ( 1368- 1644) and the Qing Dynasty ( 1644-1911). Famous for its long narrow alleys ,covered corridors and bridges.
I went there in 2005 . I was amazed at the well kept town and that people actually live there. You can see them washing their clothes and going about their daily lives. The houses are small inside and very dark.It is an amazing place worth visiting.
