    Beautifully done!

Just out of interest’s sake, did you set up and wait, with your focal point at that spot?

  • Thanks very much Jordan for your compliment and fave, greatly appreciated.
I am still new to macro and manual but I saw in another RB member of his bee in flight and he gave the settings. Mine was handheld, manual F 5.6 shutter speed 1000. I just waited patiently for the bee ( there were lots of them at the same bush of flowers),quickly focus and shoot madly.Sometimes I get lucky like this one.LOL

.. great macro… I just read you formula.. you forgot to add .. cross your fingers and hope the bee doesn’t turn on you.. that happened to me once and I must have been a funny sight as I ran down the street holding my camera with a bee chasing me…

Gorgeous color and clarity in this image and tack sharp focus.. the subtle blur gives it a really nice visual too… if you did this and you are new to macro.. that’s amazing! My compliments to you.

  • Thanks for your support and advice. Many times I have wondered why the bee doesn’t turn on me since I am about 6inches away from them and the lens is about 2inches from the bee. I better watch out in case there is a nasty one but so far they have been very kind to me. There is a blur on the leg, maybe grease on my lens, not sure what it is.Thanks for your lovely comment, greatly appreciated :)
