My image has been stolen again! by

Found this on src-img search that a Malaysian site has used my image ‘Reaching Out’ without my permission. This is the second time it has happened. I am in the process of asking them to remove the image.
This time round I am smarter.I took a photo of the site with my image on it and attached it when I emailed them to prove that they did steal my image. In the previous stolen image by the time I complained to google abuse ,he had already taken the image down and I had no proof.

This is what I used to search my images

Good luck, a person shouldn’t have to keep a constant eye on everything they do! Hope it works out for you!

  • Thanks Tina. What is very annoying is that it has big water mark and I have disabled download right click but they can still steal it. Once it was stolen, other people will keep copying the same image and use it . This is the second time that it has happened .

Wow. Good luck. Sorry this has happened to you. An amazing piece of art, wow. xoxoxoox

  • Thanks Shar. It is a loosing battle with these people who have no respect for copyright. Besides this image, another of my portraits has been used in a forum. I cannot even get into the forum site because I will have to pay to be a member. It is so time consuming to write to these people to ask them to take down your image.

Pat, is it the same person/group that stole you image? Unfortunately it is a testament as to your awesome skills as a photographer that someone wants to claim it as their own! Sandy

  • The previous blogger a few months ago was a teacher,he used this image to accompany his horror story. He did take it off his blog. This time it is another blogger and I cannot even contact him,no email address on his blog and the blog website said they are not responsible for what has happened. It is a losing battle. What makes me very angry is that I spent a lot of time taking this photo. I sat for at least more than an hour to wait for the appropriate moment when a kid went to play on the water wall. Then someone comes along and just use it without linking it back to me.With the new layout of RB it does not show the description where I normally put the copyright so I guess if someone is just browsing, they would not see that copyright note. I wish RB would use a big cross copyright on the images like those used in stock photos. Thanks Sandy, glad that you can see it that way : )

How frustrating Pat! So many people think images on the internet are fair game for them to do whatever they like with. It is a fantastic shot too.

  • Thanks Georgie. I think once it has been copied ,it gets around and we cannot stop it. The website guy was helpful but they also couldn’t stop the blogger and I did not get any reply at all from the blogger,he just ignored all my emails.

    Sorry this happened to you…..Gena

  • Hi Gena, for some reason this is the only photo that have been stolen a few times.I have a feeling that once it has been stolen and is on the internet,it has been exposed to so many people that it just goes round and round and there is no way to stop it. I do not like RB with all the symbols eg f like ( facebook I think) and share ( once shared it just goes around to anybody facebook page) . I couldn’t get rid of these symbols on my pages here on RB.
