When I photographed the white pumpkin this weekend, it was because I think they’re so beautiful. I didn’t know that they aren’t grown in Australia. What I was looking for was a blank canvas to rework in Photoshop. This one turned out to be a little too blank as the ridges didn’t extend all the way to the bottom of the pumpkin. Not enough contrast to use the whole pumpkin, but it was fun working with it. I’ve been thinking about looking at an object and focusing the interest on the main feature. This started with my reducing my fractals and is spreading to my other images.
Anyway, I had a great time making this image. I’ll look through my autumn shots and see if I can find a display the includes more white pumpkins.
