Just joking really. On a whim last night, I pulled the facial features out of a picture that I took of my great-nephew and put it on a T-shirt. Sent it to my sister for fun. It’s part of an experiment that I’ve been doing this weekend in taking past images and stripping themn down to their bones. Getting to the elemental structure of an image. My sister bought two of the shirts!
We can intellectualize our art all we want. What it really comes down to is an ability to connect on some very basic level with the viewer. It’s probably impossible to miss when using images of grandchildren. It’s ultimate connection.
