Rain Storm Over Manhattan
While I was on a mental health board, I made a ton of trips to NY alone. At night I’d set up my camera and tripod and shoot out of my hotel window. One night it started raining. At the time, I was living in New Mexico and found the view of the rain fascinating.

Thanks! This view is no longer in existence. Glad I captured it when I did. They’ve torn down one of the building and built a higher building. On the other side of the hotel there was a view of the Empire State Building. That view is gone, too. Sigh

Patricia, great image. Love the softness of the subject. The tones add to the mystique of the rain. Very gauzy…wonderfully entrancing. The composition is great. Very “shadows and fogs” dynamic. Super, super. Love it.

Thanks. It’s art out of diversity. Kept trying to get the hotel window open and it was nailed shut. So, I decided to shoot through the glass.

Nice shot. Even through the glass it captured the atmosfeer outside where you wouldn’t wanna be anyway.

this is beautful – in a cold, steel, dark city, almost like gotham city in the ‘50’s. : )
