This is an image for my upcoming 08/09 Pumped Up Down Under calendar. This calendar commenced in 1989 and was initially a gym publication designed to inspire women to work with weights. It is now more of a fitness pictorial and whilst still inspiring to women has built up an enormous male following.
I am really passionate about running workshops pertaining to images such as these. I have set up a group to promote and feature these workshops.

Really think the hair is a major part. The model is very particular about her hair but in this one the wind picked it up and I think it gave her a freedom for the second of the shot.

Thanks for your support Matt. It has been my baby for nearly 20 years. May be on it’s last legs as distribution has dropped off and finding it hard to get sponsors. It seems political correctness has scared most companies away.

Can’t believe it’s your baby! Congrats on the success it’s had…there seems to have been a copy in just about every newsagents I go to each year!
It’s a shame Political ‘correctness’ can kill off something like this..especially superb photography of clothed fit women, promoting fitness/health.

Thanks Matt. I work very hard to bring more light to the topic of female aesthetics. I think we all contribute to the censorship as we find it hard to maintain control around the power of the beauty. This then has some in society want to protect us from ourselves.

Thankyou. I really believe that how relaxed the model is can make or break a photo. There were other more aesthetically appealing shots that had no where near the empowerment of this one.

such tones figures shouls always inspired people to health and fitness. I love my run along the creek with nature all around me and my laps in the pool. Makes all the difference when you need more energy and need to be able to be focused and clear. I love my time out and work out, hehehehe. But I hate gyms and dont’ like lots of people all around me at once so opt for the free (running) and cheap (pool) options lol

She’s very pretty, but I wouldn’t find this picture inspirational in the slightest. Especially not after actually having been to a gymn several times and having learned, from experience, that pretty much only the women who look and dress this way can get any time on the equipment.
Which is why my weights are at home!
