The woman in these series of pics was a model for me prior to becoming a mother. She always had such a deep and powerful precence about her. I felt so priviliged to be able to capture these images. There is just so much joy between mother and son.
I am really passionate about running workshops pertaining to images such as these. I have set up a group to promote and feature these workshops.

I think capturing people in their true essence is so hard and so rewarding when achieved. Most people ijn front of a camera don’t even seem aware to how self conscious they can be.

Think much of the impact is from the honesty in the energy of the mother and child. Many subjects freeze or put on false fronts when a camera is pointed at them. Children are usually not so worried about this but adults seem more conscious of their image. Marietta was so in the moment in these shots and I think it really shows.
