Essence
I am forever talking about essence and being in the moment. This shot is very representative of this aspect of photography. I feel tremendous energy emanating from this image even though the scene and shot does not seem to have anything unusual about it. The shot was taken many years ago of a friend who has a very powerful but destructive energy. On this day her energy was very much at peace and her power has been presented from what I believe to be her true essence.

Hi Terry, thanks for your continued support. I feel in this capture that she was not connecting so much to her destructive self. Felt that the location which was her own property and the day which was very calm helped her to project more from her heart which I believe to be very deep. However she has had such chaos in life that she often dis connects from the depth of her heart and acts from protection and destruction.

It looks as if she is just waiting whilst you set up the shot. In fact, it almost looks like she wasn’t even put into that pose, she just went there for her own comfort. She certainly shows no sign of waiting for that ‘Click’.

Agree Ryan. It does look like she is not aware of the camera at all. By my memory she was just in a very calm zone and was aware throughout the whole shoot.

Love this one Tony! Aside from the fact that I have a “thing” for girls in Ugg Boots (hehehe), the capture itself blows me away. She looks so cold and perhaps vulnerable, but she also displays strength as well. I think the most overwhelming element is that it seems so un-contrived & natural. Such a simple, stunning image but it seems there is something very complex going on within it.

She is an extraordinarily beautiful woman and I love how you photographed her in this crouching position. The boots (I love the boots!!) add so much wonderful dimension and interest to a unique very natural perspective. This portrait is filled with intrigue with her lovely soulful expressive eyes and relaxed disposition. I like how her mouth (she has pretty lips) is slightly open and her hair is flowing wild and free. All your portraits are very beautiful Tony, yet I especially like this one.

I very cold image, the energy that i get from the image is what am i doing here, what the F* happened to me, the pose is fantastic, however the goose bumps on her arms and back of her legs, slightly blue knees and white/blue face suggests to me that it was freezing. I love the ugg boots especially the right one with the hole in it.

Thanks for your comments David. I cannot actually remember the temperature as this shot was about 5-10 years ago. I agree too that the Ug boots seem to fit the whole scene.

Think that any powerfully sensitive soul can go to extremes of emotion. To me woemn are the most sensitive in general and can be very gentle or very cold dependant upon mood and situation.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. The model is and always has been a very complex person. On this day she was in her essence zone which is so empowering. However when out of her comfort zone she can be very closed.

Amazing body of work taken as a whole; this one speaks volumes to me; her lack of eye contact feels dissociative; her closed stance suggests a desperate need to protect her heart as though regarding her physical beauty as a curse that only leads to pain…

She is a very protective and complex personality so you are probably reading the picture very clearly. I think if she and any of us went really deep into our pain that would would find a trust in the joy our physical body can bring us.
