A triptych of images captured in Galle, Sri Lanka many years ago. These were captured on film and scanned last year. Galle beach is an incredible part of the island, a tropical paradise, secluded and rich in nature. It’s also one part of Sri Lanka that was devastated by the tsunami of 2006 that hit on Boxing Day. Horrific as that time was, I have watched the country rebuild and reclaim it’s status as one of the most beautiful and untouched places on this planet.

    Brilliant work my friend!
I can’t even imagine the distaught feelings of the surviving people and the awful devastation to the natural beauty of this place in the 2006 tsunami….Yet you have captured the returning beauty perfectly….Beautifully captured and portrayed my friend :)

  • It’s really hard to imagine what they went through, but I have never seen resilience in humans like I did here. They grieved, picked up and carried on. Strength in those people, I think I draw on that experience at times, when things get a bit harder here. It did thankfully return to it’s beautiful seemingly untouched state by a year later. So thankful to have it back. Thank you so much, Carol, really appreciated :)
