We were travelling through Sri Lanka, somewhere between Kandy and Newera Eliya, in the centre of the highland tea plantations. The roads were windy and a little treacherous. Mum started to feel a bit sick, so we pulled over for a few minutes.

I looked out the window and this is what I was gifted. I have no idea which falls these are, but it seems like everything aligned for me in one magical moment. I fumbled with the camera and captured a few shots, before the crow flew away.

The title comes from an album by Goldfrapp. A mate of mine was looking at the unedited photo and said it looked like something from that album. I created this with that in mind.

Parmi my friend- this is such a gift moment to share with us here in this way. Loved your notes too. Such a special addition to this series. Crows are among my favorite Birds..they are so such atmosphere to a scene, as this one has here. Beautiful treatment!

  • What a wonderful comment Rosie, thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed reading this experience, it was an incredible fleeting moment. I love crows too, they bring such mood. I agree, very photogenic birds, possibly my fave to shoot :)

This is real nice mate, great story too – it’s incredible how you just happened to stop infront of that opening with the falls and the crow perched there. Nicely framed too, and love your use of textures as always.. really moody. Did I say I liked the framing?

  • I don’t think I’ve ever moved this fast mate! Jumped across the van and pushed people out of the way to capture this one. Pretty sure it was raining at the time too. Still hard to believe it all came together. The pine trees were so good to me! Thanks heaps for the awesome comment, man!! :)
