This could be the most important photo I have taken so far.
Dean, some of you would know, is my best mate. He also happens to be one of the best progessive house and techno DJs in the country. He called me last week and told me Beat Magazine, Melbourne’s most circulated street press paper, was doing an interview / photo spot on him. He had the interview questions, and needed the photo.

Dean and I had planned to take more shots for his DJing career, but had to accelerate the process to the very next day.
So Dean, his girlfriend Myriah and myself went to a local shopping centre for this shoot. Dean had an idea of repetition in the background for his shots, and we eventually found this section, perfect for what we wanted.
Many shots later, this turned out to be one of the favourites. I have to agree, I love the pose in this. Instantly it reminded me of an acrobat preparing for a tumble or roll. I was also reminded of the way Dean DJs, spinning, looping and throwing together sounds to make things work in peaks and troughs. Perfectly balancing a set, jumping ahead of everyone to put on quite possibly, the greatest show on earth for anyone who is listening.
This was such an amazing opportunity, to be able to help your mate out is one thing, but we have helped each other, in a way that not many could. I’m really thankful to Dean for allowing me the chance to do this for him, and for having the faith in me too. What an incredible thing to go through together!
