The unique cathedral is still being built in Barcelona, Capital city of Catalonia. Antoni Gaudi is the mastermind behind this design and construction. He began work on it in 1883 and after his death in 1926, the construction and plans have been the subject of many discussions, debates and political wars. To this day it is still being built and the general future of the cathedral is under speculation and the centre of controversy. It is due to open in September 2010 for worship.

Wow,, this is awesome,, architecture at it’s best,, I also like the Jacaranda tree,,,

  • Thanks very much Maria, gives a whole new meaning to neo-gothic architecture! I always wonder what the world would look like if Gaudi was still alive today :)

Once again fab exposure, something I struggle a bit with to get all elements of shot correct. And, as for architecture, well what can we say…

  • Thanks H, appreciate your great comments as always mate. Looking at any of your shots, I would never think you struggle with combining elements at all! Always helps with architecture like this, I’d love to build a replica here in Melbourne somewhere.
