Colour Dreams
Ahh summer has arrived early for some of us this year. After a day at the beach last weekend, I was able to get that good old feeling back that only summer can bring!
These kids were playing around at the beach, and I couldn’t help but be reminded of a time in life when going to the beach, making a sand castle, digging a hole to fill when tide comes in, finding something living under a rock and burying someone in sand were the best things you could ever do. Life’s simple pleasures.
I live for a sunny day.
Taken at Port Melbourne Beach
Original shot layered once and a free use texture from www.deviantart.com – tagger stock layered on top, with a slight adjustment of RGB. Finally, omni lighting effect applied.

This is lovely Andrew! It makes me think back… to a couple of years back! lol! i was young and careless like that only a few years back…. hmmmm… what i wouldn’t give to be back there…. i like the sky tooo and the graininess makes it seem like we’re in your mind looking back on a memory that has been stored for a while and is losing its colour and becoming grainy with the overplaying…. Beautiful! :)
parmi replied
Ahh even if it was a month ago, we still crave to go back to the times that nothing really mattered. Wow, after reading your comment, I get the feeling you can read my mind! That’s pretty much bang on what I wanted to show in this piece. A memory that’s overplayed but still enjoyed. That’s made it all worthwhile, thanks heaps mate!

Awwh.. this takes me back to my childhood… Sun block & hats were never an issue back then… I really love what this represents.. for me it’s about the appreciation of simple living… nowadays it seems so far away but still etched as memories..
I really like your treatment.. it even looks sun burnt….:)

Simple living.. exactly what I was hoping to communicate, uncomplicated and easy, so glad you got that from it! The memories never really fade away completely, which I really love, always there to tap into when we need them. Thank you my friend, very glad this one appeals in the same way it does to me :)

Excellent piece of work – love it. I also saw it first without the people just above them and just that looks great too – another crop maybe?
parmi replied
Thanks so much. The crop is unfortunately what the thumbnail version does to this piece, lose most of the bottom and top. On a plus side, it makes the kids at the bottom a bit of a surprise once opened! :)
