This is my personal dedication to one of the best night’s out Melbourne had to offer in the late 90s – mid 00s. The night, by the same name, was held at Room680, in Hawthorn. It was the home to some of the best DJs and music at the time, and became a place of great memories for me today.
The original Japanese Kanji characters were taken from a poster in a back alley in Chinatown, Melbourne. The two characters represent anarchy and chaos.
Filled the background with a deep red, added a dusty, scratchy layer, then a splattered paint layer, faded both slightly. Two layers of the same broken glass on top of that. Then a bit of tweaking and contrast adjustment to get this rather vibrant, if not slightly crazy looking piece.
The night itself was nothing short of crazy, busy, active and fun. Kinda gave you the energy to run out and throw yourself through a window.. but in a good way! Themed loosely around Japanese underground electronica clubs.
Thanks Teriyakianarkisaki for a great few years of fun!

Yeh man, nice shot! Cream in Liverpool and Moneypennys in Birmingham are the same for me but in the early 90s. Saw David Morales in birmingham and went out and spanked £1500 the next day on decks and a mixer. Some of those nights still live on when ever i hear certain tracks!! A great time for many and an insperation for a chosen few!!
Great Shot!

Ah mate, early 90s rocked it!! Music was killer then. It all comes back to me with certain tracks and mixes too mate. Just love those days so much. Slinky used to bring their festival tour down to Melbourne, once a year, such awesome memories from that. Hernan Cattaneo.. what a god! Thanks for the great comment mate, great to know you relate so well!

Yes, it’s high energy & in your face…. (in a good way, ofcourse).... The red textures & layers are so diverse for it can also represent a dark mood of war and it’s destructive elements…. (but not the case here)
parmi replied
Perfect, that’s exactly what I was hoping for! I see the war and destruction element to it too, and wanted to give it a bit more positive a slant on it. Bit of a task with the broken glass, and blood like look to it lol!
