When I close my eyes
I can see happiness
I can see my home, and I want it.
A girl in red skirts
Beckoning to me on a beach
A time rather than a place
No road leads there now
When I close my eyes
I can see happiness
I can see my home, and I want it.
A girl in red skirts
Beckoning to me on a beach
A time rather than a place
No road leads there now

hey, that’s a lovely little gem of a poem. The first 3 lines and the last line really had a personal resonance for me. As of late, I really feel a very upsetting incongruence between where I am and where I want to be, and I kind of got teary-eyed reading it.
I know that it has a specific meaning to you, since you wrote it, but the four lines I mentioned kind of remind me how I moved away from my childhood home and my father, and only upon reflection do I realize just how much I love him and how much I miss him.
God, how I love guys who write good poetry!

“A time rather than a place” Those lines are beautiful! The whole thing just rang in my eyes when I read it! Beautiful feeling
