Sleepy
Baby sloth- Punta Uva, Costa Rica. The baby had fallen out of the tree and the gardeners found him. They were pushing him around in a wheelbarrow to keep him safe from a large boa constrictor that was roaming the premises. I’m not sure how, but the baby was eventually reunited with his mom… We saw them in a tree together a few days later.

Thanks avocet! I love your monkey pic too! I enjoyed Costa Rica, and hope to post more of my photos as time permits me to go through them! I really got lucky with this baby sloth. A German couple got a picture of the baby and mom together as they were about to ascend a tree. I got some photos of the mom and baby high up in a tree, but the light was fading, and I didn’t have a long enough lens to do them justice! Oh well, I’m sure I’ll visit again!

Lovely story and picture..I’ve never seen a baby sloth or a sloth in the wild for that matter….hopefully will get the chance one day….have to change my numbers for the lottery!!!

Yes… we were lucky to see the baby sloth, but after taking those pictures, I was worried about what would happen to him. It was nice to see mom and baby reunited, even if I didn’t have a long enough lens to get good pictures of the pair!
