SPIKE AND ME

In our town. there was a boy called spike
he used to eat spiders and ride a blue bike
with socks on his ears, and gloves on his feet
he would ride though town and looked pretty neat

he swam in our pond, each day before school
my mum used to say , the boy is a fool
he lived on a farm, with cows and alike
and chased them around on his little blue bike

his family were poor, so he had to eat hay.
i gave him my supper, but he throw it away
his room was a box in the yard by a stream
we used to go fishing for sweets and ice creem

he would swing in the trees and sing me a song
and show me the hole were the rabbits had gone
with chains made of daisys, and grass in our pants
we would dance in the feilds and tread on the ants

his dad was a big man, a mean looking guy
he would shout at his wife, while the kids used to cry
shoot at the cows and eat food buy the ton
spit at the cat and he did this for fun

twenty years later and spike is a man
stood up to his dad as only he can
his mums now a smiler and beams all day long
his dad is to old — THEM BAD DAYS HAVE GONE…
