Lovely Lavender - l'Abbaye de Maillezais by

in the heart of the Abbaye de Maillezais, (Poitou Charentes) the Lavender bushes continue to grow – from the original potagerie that dates back to Medieval France – days of Monks, Kings and Travellers!

Built in 1003 on an island in the Golfe des Pictons (Gulf of Pictons), this Benedictine abbey played host to men of letters and artists, including François Rabelais and Agrippa d’Aubigné.

The Marais Poitevin leads to the Abbaye

We live in the West of France in the Poitou Charentes region, I love where we live and take a lot of inspiration for photography from the countryside and wonderful regions around us.

I have not had any formal training and just feel comfortable behind the lens, enjoying the feeling of liberty and fun that is to be had with a camera.

I also have a FaceBook Page

Such a beautiful bunch and love the way they gradually fade into the distance – especially with the light around them it is so dreamy.

  • Thank you kindly Mui-Ling :)
