In 2009 we took a visit to Le Gironde department of France, we thought it would be fun to go and see La Dune de Pyla (Pilat) we didn’t realise however that the whole department (not quite) would be there celebrating Earth Day (22nd April) the idea was to make a “Human Tree” away from it all, this scene captured a little bit of how we all felt that day – incredible scenery, on top of the world, and surveying our terriotory that Mother Nature is gradually swallowing up with this massive dune! All the more of a special moment wishing out dear friend a Happy 40th on top of this amazing dune with the view of the world below and around!

As Is

We live in the West of France in the Poitou Charentes region, I love where we live and take a lot of inspiration for photography from the countryside and wonderful regions around us.

I have not had any formal training and just feel comfortable behind the lens, enjoying the feeling of liberty and fun that is to be had with a camera.

I also have a FaceBook Page

Dwarfed by nature, what a stunning sight!

  • Thank you so much G, it is an amazing view to behold – I don’t think I have climbed so high before – but well worth it! Sadly this Dune is on the move and has already taken a lot of land!

Congratulations Pamela. The Dune is never deserted, and sometimes it is as crowded.as Champs Elysees. The view is so beautiful, that the tiring sand climbing (without the stairs in winter) is worthwhile. Happy Easter to you and familly. :))
