We have a white world again! Never snows in Decembre say our French Friends – normally Janvier or Fevrier but never Decembre – well there is the exception to the rule and here in our part of the Deux Sevres we have snow and ice and pretty much artic temperatures -9 is the lowest so far!

Our village is pretty much cut off from the rest of the world – the school buses are not running and the bus that Chloe takes into Niort to Lycée will only come to Melle which is about 15minutes drive on a good day – today on the icy (un-salted)roads it took over half an hour! And then of course we had to stop in the middle of a blizzard to take some photos – I stayed in the car though – can’t ruin the camera now can I?!

SOLD greeting card 9th December ’13 Thank you so much :D

We live in the West of France in the Poitou Charentes region, I love where we live and take a lot of inspiration for photography from the countryside and wonderful regions around us.

I have not had any formal training and just feel comfortable behind the lens, enjoying the feeling of liberty and fun that is to be had with a camera.

I also have a FaceBook Page

What a fabulous winter wonderland. Just such a lovely piece. Well spotted and captured my friend. Merry Christmas!!!!

  • thank you so much Bradley :) for your lovely comment! Rob must have seen me looking so wistfully around as we took our treacherous road to drop Chloe off!! He stopped on the way back so that I could have a few shots – but we then had a blizzard to drive back in – I have to admit I didn’t fancy getting the camera covered in snow so took this from the car!! Chicken or what!!

This is wonderful Pam you have captured the snow and ice and feel of the day beautifully. We have snow to in Norfolk about 3 inches or so, made loads of snowmen at school. : )

  • Thank you Karen – there is not a lot around the garden but in the back lanes more! we have had snow pretty much since yesterday afternoon, blizzards, winds, fog, rain and snow again!! At least the kids are having a great start to the holidays in the UK!?
