well not literally but we were walking alongside the railway line with a 6ft fence stopping us being on top of the tracks!! The bridge is very old and has the Richard de Coeur crest on, the original rather ornate fencing is protected now.

To get the photo I was on my tiptoes and leant on the fence top (I am 5’11" so gives you an indication of how high the fence is not!

Had quite an exhilerating moment though when the TGV came past – jelly legs and trying to hold onto my camera – whooo!!

We live in the West of France in the Poitou Charentes region, I love where we live and take a lot of inspiration for photography from the countryside and wonderful regions around us.

I have not had any formal training and just feel comfortable behind the lens, enjoying the feeling of liberty and fun that is to be had with a camera.

I also have a FaceBook Page

Great leading lines (pardon the pun ;) through the tunnel. Cool to capture both arcs.

  • love the pun Jan :)) thank you kindly – it was not the easiest of capture purely because I couldn’t look through the lens it was a set it up on the fence take a shot and remember the position for when the tgv comes along – what fun :))

Wonderful shot, Pamela…you’re so lucky to have such great train opps. there…..we don’t have a great system at all out here on the island.

  • Thank you Wendi – I have only been on a TGV once well twice if you include the return and they are pretty fab!! Rob used to commute all the links where timed to perfection to reach Paris and even then the Eurostar! So yes if we used them we wouldn’t have that much stress as he used to getting to London from the middle of nowhere as we used to be!
