Thank you Rod for your comments :) YES it is a wonderful port to visit we stumbled upon it really and had a lovely time walking around and exploring – although we went in June before the tourist season and the price of the bridge goes up to get on to the Il de Ré but a wonderful little place we could have spent a lot more time there!

Thank you Felicity! lol that’s a great thought and it is a lovely little town so much to see and do and lots of lovely little lanes with white houses and hollyhocks everywhere!

Thank you Colin :) once my legs has stopped shaking I was able to take in the full glory of the view – it was stunning, especially to the sea and then the history just envelopes you when standing there!

I am not best at heights – I am fine when there but it’s the getting there!! But yes it is also the anticipation for me as well! You will have to put the Il de Ré on your holiday list :)
