Here I sit, in my pot.
My little pot of tea.
It’s really good, I think it’s Chai,
Care to share some with me?
Oh, but please, don’t come too close,
I fear you’ll make it shake.
The table I mean, you know, when you sit?
The table tends to quake.
Now then put some sugar in.
One lump is fine with me.
Now then, my dear, if you’d be so kind,
How do you like your tea?
Oh, I’m sorry, I fell asleep.
That’s all I do anymore.
The Hatter and Hare, all they do is talk,
It’s really quite a bore.
Excuse me, could you take me out of this pot?
I’d like to see your face, my friend.
Oh dear, I’m so sorry, but…
I’m afraid this is the end.
You see, I can’t be friends with you.
Don’t be insulted please!
It’s just that..
You’re a cat.
Another poem inspired by Lewis Carroll’s “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”, only this time, it’s about the Dormouse.
