Fantastic work in this; so glad you posted this. I especially like the way you’ve added not only the arm hair, but the facial hair and the reflection within the fingernails-very believeable.

  • HA.. thanks for noticing the little detail. And yes.. its the little details that make a drawing work.

It is a sensitive portrayal and a beautiful work of art David.

  • Thanks, Sharon. It was the eyes that sold me on drawing this portrait. However the original photo was very dark so I lightened it in photoshop

Another marvellous work from the master!! I wish you and your family Merry Christmas and a wonderful, happy and inspiring New Year 2010!

  • Thanks my friend. Sorry for the silence. I pulled a muscle in my right arm and until it heals that means little time on the home computer or drawing.. but I wanted to return the holiday greeting to you. Happy new year, too!

    Outstanding work!! :-)

  • Thanks…. after drawing this, the photographer showed me the un-cropped version to the pose and wow…. if I hadn’t done so well with this one, I may have tried the full pose. However I feel the portrait version is more powerful and suits the need to add to my second book.
