A pair of zebra longwing butterflies taken at the Sarett Nature Center in Benton Harbor, Michigan.

These two longwings sitting next to each other presented a unique photo op with one showing the open wing details and the other showing closed wing details.

Taken with a Canon 7D DSLR and 100-400mm Lens.

    Isn’t it amazing, John, how butterflies look so different with wings opened and wings closed? The colors and patterns vary. This is indeed a rare example of the same species from both points of view. Great image!
