Pretty spot. Looks like an earlier version on another Trillium Lake image of yours. This one has more fog coming off the water. I can picture myself in a 14 foot fishing boat with the trolling motor going and throwing lures towards the shore trying to catch a bass or whatever is in this lake. Nice feel to this John.
Hey Adam. You are “kinda” correct in your observation of an earlier version. I actually took about a hundred shots of exact same scene at different exposures and ever 3 minutes or so as the sun was rising. I am just getting around to going through them and experimenting with both Photomatix HDR software as well as some Nik SW filters to combine various frames and try some of the filter effects. So, expect to see a few more versions.
It was indeed a very peaceful spot. Wife and I stumbled on it late one afternoon and I took a few shots, but water was a bit rough and light wasn’t so good. I tried to estimate where sun might be coming up in the morning and, in hopes that water would be calmer early, I got out here about 5 am while she slept in. I set up tripod for shot I was happy with and just started going through different exposures every 3-5 minutes for about an hour. Now, I’ve got lots to work with.
