Bottom of The Food Chain - Flame Skimmer
Caught this dragonfly indulging in a little lite cuisine. This little bee was so small I didn’t even realize he had anything until I focused in on him with 400 mm. I managed to get off several shots as he finessed the bee down. This was one of the best to be able see even the details of dinner.

WOW. I’ve never, ever seen a totally red dragonfly before, This is totally awesome; really. Did you discover this one in Illinois or out west? Fantastic capture.

Thanks Adam. This was taken out in Vegas area. I was excited when I first saw the dragonfly, but even more excited when I realized he was having a snack. I was a little disappointed though that the shot was not as sharp as I’d like. I’ve got a few more shots of this guy that might be a bit better, but the little bee is not as visible.

Very cool John. Screw the bee in the other shots. Upload another one that you think is better, but without the bee. This red guy is so impressive, he doesn’t need anything else to distract from his beauty. That is such a vibrant, beautiful red. I just love it. You gotta show another one. I am surprised no one else commented on this. Maybe it is the time of upload. Somtimes things get lost in the shuffle.
