This is intriguing Sabine. One minute it seems warm and peaceful to me, the next it appears eerie. The contrast between the dark silhouettes of the trees with the blackbirds and the white cocky is great against the earthy reds and browns. It first appears like a warm setting sun, but my mind keeps telling me something ominous is about to occur – I wonder if it’s the dark corners at the top that create that effect….. whatever it is, well done, it’s really great.!

Intriguing indeed. I had not looked at it from this perspective. It’s amazing where the mood takes the viewer.The original photo had a lot of dark clouds. I just added a dark vignette to frame the scene.
When I read Jim’s comment I remembered a doco on immigration and it struck me that purists consider blackbirds illegal aliens in Australia. I love them because they inhabit my garden, just as I love this multicultural country.
