Upon a Christmas Morning

Deep in frozen snowfields by the edge of forest deep
The hamlet was in darkness, the villagers asleep
Save for one small boy, his vigil he would keep
He watched the jet black sky by night he saw the twinkling stars
He glanced the dying embers of the fire in the hearth
Looking out his window he saw an awesome sight
Six reindeer and a sleigh journey through the night
Rubbing his eyes in wonder he looked and looked again
But all he saw was a trail of stars across the milkyway
Was it really Santa Clause he saw on that snowy Christmas eve
As he turned towards his bed he saw just by the hearth
The toys and presents beneath the tree it was a great surprise,
