What colour is the wind Daddy
My child asked of me
As we walked together, just by the sea
I looked at my boy and said with a smile
The wind is the colour of a long country mile
I can feel it, I can touch it, as it blows through my hair
I can feel it at morning and last thing at night
As it howls with anger and gives me a fright
It breathes oh so softly when the weather is bright
It roars round the buildings, on a dark winters night
So gentle, so friendly, so powerful, so strong
It turns the dark oceans all choppy and white
As it blows the hot sands all the way to the sea
Before coming back to blow after me
These colour the wind as she blows along
The colour is freedom, that calls in the night and in the morning
When the daylight is bright
These are the colours the wind means to me
As she blow over the land
All the way to the sea.
Inspired by Charlie Landsborough, great song.
