The Great Gallery or Gallery of Diana

The Great Gallery, also known as “the Gallery of Diana”, was designed in the late seventeenth century by the architect Michelangelo Garove as a “stage” for the Court and a passageway connecting the Reggia and the Stables. Filippo Juvarra would then rethink the whole project between 1716 and 1718, conceiving a "theatre of lights” opening to the South onto the Flower Garden, an impressive gallery 80 meters in length and 12 in height and width, which has become the very symbol of this residence.Juvarra redesigned the pattern of the windows completely, adding arched openings topped by new oval windows to let more light in.The decorations are enriched by stuccowork that represent the virtues of the sovereign in the illusions of the painted ceiling, war trophies, panoplies and groups of putti.

Royal Palace of Venaria

La Venaria Reale is one of the finest examples of the majesty of 17th and 18th century architecture. The monumental palace, that covers an overall surface of over 80,000 square meters, is a celebration of universal baroque: the enchanting scenario of the Hall of Diana designed by Amedeo di Castellamonte, the solemnity of the Great Gallery and the Church of St. Hubert, the grandiose complex of the Juvarra Stables designed by Filippo Juvarra in the 18th century, the sumptuous decorations and the imaginative installations by Peter Greenaway on life at court are the ideal setting for the Theatre of History and Magnificence, the permanent display devoted to the House of Savoy that takes our visitors on a tour that extends over almost 2 km, from the underground level to the piano nobile of the Reggia.

This is breathtaking, Paolo! You have captured it so beautifully, in sunlight, such that even the architectural embellishments show. The golden tones and light make this warm and inviting. Imagine it being a theatre for entertainment. Wow. I also took the link you provided. The palace itself appears massive.
