i love it Paola…i know my little boy would also…
he is sooo into soldiers and wants to join the army when he grows up,,
he wants to fly planes and take food to impoverished people who are affected by war….
little does he understand yet how awful war is….perhaps parents can use it to help discuss issues like this with their children Paola?
Paola Jofre replied
Hi Karin :) Thank you…i’m blushing over here with the reaction i am getting for them…I so appreciate it :) I like your idea…. I love reading books that stimulate a childs mind…makes them ask questions …so far my favourite book is “Oliver has something to say” it is so very funny and I love reading it too my 5 year old…reminds me of her hehe…

Two robots should go away-they cut the image in the middle, I think. The rest of the picture is well connected and have well-blended! I like you work! Very unusual!
Paola Jofre replied
Thank you very much nt for your comments and suggestion !! :) I did play around with this image alot and thought to have them very small to create distance between them….the question was always how small :)

Great series for a children’s book. I like this one as an image in any case. Not sure about the soldiers affecting kids, I don’t have kids, but I would think nowadays they are used to such images all the time. If you are worried about the overt realism of the soldiers maybe replace them with ‘toy town’ soldiers of an old fashioned appearance?

Great work :)
With the TV to compete with, I don’t think this image is too much. And boys are going to be playing this game with their toys anyway, LOL!
Paola Jofre replied
Thank you very much Damian!!! true true :)

kind of mystic and disturbing at the same time. great treatment. great art. childrens shouldn’t left alone with their thoughts and fears anyway. good art is always a good trigger for talks.

It all depends upon the plot line.
If we create the heroes of the piece into the robots.
They are running away together. Maybe he worked in a military science lab and she was a domestic robot. The military perceive them the male bot to be a rogue robot. He has left his job and gone A.W.A.L. He must be a threat to the nation. No he is a robot in love!
and so on…
Can’t wait to see the finished article!

i really like your work .. but i guess i always try to shield children’s innocence..and those soldier’s look preety real and scary..with their big gun..the gun thing is ..maybe an issue for alot of children’s publishing houses.. i am only gussing. Don’t forget yoyr work is wonderfully atmostpheric..and my view is probably not mainstream .With respect Anna
